County Auditor Stacy Parr explained the amendment to minute order 361.25 (originally approved 08/05/2025) to increase the contract cap to a not-to-exceed $125,000 so Capital Construction could complete renovations required for certification of an 8‑bed long-term juvenile detention facility. Parr said contractors completed the work and that deficiencies (doors not up to standard) were identified during a walkthrough and corrected, with the project now complete.
Parr and others noted the certified facility will reduce reliance on out-of-county placements that can cost roughly $300 per day per juvenile; the amendment passed unanimously to avoid returning for another contract adjustment.
