The Montcalm County Board of Commissioners approved funding from the public improvement fund to host a fall electronics-recycling event coordinated by Montcalm Community College.
Steve Scofield, an instructor who said he does not charge for his time, described prior events that brought roughly 150–175 vehicles during a three-hour window. He presented a vendor quote in the meeting packet of $4,938.45 and said the college is offering parking and staff support for the Greenville campus event tentatively scheduled for Sept. 19.
Vice Chairman Peterson moved to approve county funding from the public improvement fund; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote.
Next steps: County staff will work with Scofield and the county fiscal office to finalize logistics and the vendor contract.
