Alberto Maras, the county’s director of development, told the court staff recommended approval of the first amendment. "So staff does recommend approval of that 1st Amendment," Maras said. The change was presented as responsive to a recent plat filing and to reduce drive cuts by adjusting thoroughfare designations.
Commissioner Butler moved to adopt the amendment and Commissioner Ponder seconded; the court voted without opposition. The item was discussed and acted on during the public hearing and subsequent agenda item for the master thoroughfare plan. No members of the public signed up to speak on the amendment during the public hearing.
The amendment amends the thoroughfare designation in Precinct 4 and will be reflected in the 2024 master thoroughfare plan update. The court recorded the motion and approval on the record; no re-advertising was required for this change.
