The Brewster County treasurer presented financial packets on Jan. 27 showing cash-on-hand, reconciliation progress and receipts through the end of December.
The judge and treasurer reported that the county is caught up on major account reconciliations (operating accounts, payroll and pool checking) through December, and that property-tax collections contributed materially to a year-to-date surplus. The judge referred to a grand total in the packet and to property-tax collections; commissioners accepted the treasurer's reports and thanked staff for reconciliation work.
The treasurer noted bank-letter-of-credit coverage for county deposits at West Texas National Bank and described an internal plan for a global budget adjustment to be presented Feb. 10. Commissioners approved routine acceptance of the treasurer's reports.
