Resident asks Storm Lake council for $5,000 annual dust-control funding on Geisinger Road

Paul Heidi, a Storm Lake resident, asked the Lake City Council on July 20 to include funding for dust control on Geisinger Road in the upcoming budget process. “If not, at the least, we'd like to request $5,000 a year to continue to coat that road,” Heidi said, noting residents have funded the treatment for about 16 years.
Heidi told the council the requested treatment would run from East Milwaukee North to the city limits and would reduce dust that affects quality of life in his neighborhood. The chair thanked him for submitting the request and staff acknowledged the council will study budget priorities in September. No formal council action was taken during the public-comment period; the item was entered for consideration in the budget process.
