Council designates $2.0 million in CPST-3 projects and records cost savings adjustments

Florence County Council approved a resolution designating specific individual projects to be funded from excess capital project sales tax (CPST-3) receipts and recorded several adjustments after bid results. The clerk read the resolution naming the projects and the amounts.
A staff presentation detailed the allocation: "This resolution approves 16 new CPSC 3a projects at a cost of $1,623,118, 8 new CPST 3b projects at a cost of $605,212. And this resolution also reduces 2 CPST 3a projects at a reduction of $293,597 due to cost savings once bids were received," a staff member said. Council members spoke in favor, noting the penny sales tax revenue has funded significant county infrastructure and that many projects are already under construction or in bidding phases.
The vote carried and staff will continue project scheduling and contracting work as outlined in the county’s CPST-3 program.
