Court hears 250th celebration plans; approves county share of fireworks contract

Wilder outlined logistics and fundraising, saying the city had appropriated $40,000 and noting the court’s prior allocation of $33,333 toward the celebration. Barton presented a fireworks contract from PyroShows with a contract price of $29,998.50 and said the city had approved the contract the previous evening. The court voted to pay the county’s share, and a motion to pay the additional county portion carried by voice vote.
Wilder and Barton emphasized parking, staging and safety planning, including use of adjacent lots and a private parking-management firm. No amendments to the contract terms were recorded; the court approved the county contribution to the event without further referral.
