Principal and superintendent report strong student outcomes, grants and facility projects

The principal reported strong academic indicators: 72 of 112 students (64%) made honor roll this quarter, 16 students had perfect attendance, and the mean PSAT score for grades 8–9 was 859 compared with the state mean of 834 and national 817.
"Out of 112 students, 72 made honor roll this 0.25," the principal (Kirby, speaker 11) told trustees, adding that 16 students had perfect attendance and 45 students missed two or fewer days. The principal highlighted recent staff professional development, a PTO holiday bazaar with around 40 vendors, and fall athletics results.
Superintendent (speaker 4) reported the district levy passed after three community meetings and described facility improvements funded by grants and donations, including a greenhouse installation and work on ag program infrastructure. The superintendent said a grant application is pending to place a large concrete pad and steel building to support welding and manufacturing student projects and that new Konica copy machines will be leased in December to replace current equipment.
The superintendent also noted recent grants for the science department (18 microscopes, $2,300) and an art grant of $3,488 for musical supplies. Trustees congratulated staff and volunteers.
