Trustees approved an updated reunification plan and an updated crisis intervention plan after staff described annual updates and recent crisis team reviews. The plans define incident command roles, procedures to reunite students with families and response steps for incidents including fire, lockdowns and earthquakes.
"It's the plan that allows us to return the kids to their families safely and make sure that they get back with the right families," the superintendent (speaker 4) said, explaining the reunification plan will be distributed and practiced with staff. Trustees noted the designated O'Gara meeting location is walking distance to the fire station.
The crisis intervention update reflects recent crisis team meetings and an outside review: the district resource officer reviewed the document and judged it sound, and the plan includes phone/column trees and updated classroom maps and room numbers. The board approved both plans and directed staff to continue annual updates and practice drills.
