Council voted to appoint Alexandra (Alexandra Pastor) to the Police Advisory Committee after she introduced herself and described her local ties and interest in fostering police‑community communication.
"So my name is Alexandra Pastor, and, counselor Guston actually approached me, and wondered if I would be interested in joining the PAC," Pastor said, explaining she has lived in Barre City since 1986, owns property here, and has engaged with neighbors and the police department in recent months. Councilors asked whether she had followed the officer McGowan situation; Pastor said she had only limited familiarity with details and acknowledged the committee would not have formal jurisdiction over personnel matters but that community input is valuable. A council motion to appoint her was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
