The Commissioners Court on Jan. 6 approved a package of traffic measures for West County Road 125, adopting no‑parking signage and reducing a posted 40 mph speed limit to 30 mph between TX 349 and SCR 1200.
G.W. Hanson, Public Works Operations Manager, opened public hearings on the proposals; no members of the public spoke. "We recommend the signs be installed to address trucks parking along the pavement and to improve safety on a narrow right‑of‑way," Hanson told the court. Following the hearing the court voted to install no‑parking signs and change the speed limit; motions passed and staff was directed to place and maintain signs as provided in county procedures.
Hanson also led hearings and motions on installing stop signs at several rural intersections (ECR 150 at SCR 1160; SCR 1136 at ECR 190); those items were brought up after public notice and the court approved the installations. The county’s procurement and public‑works materials show the county placed legal notice of the hearings in the Midland Reporter‑Telegram and online before the meeting.
