Karnes County EMS logs record 24-hour call volume, receives donation and plans EMS Week events

Karnes County EMS told the Commissioners Court May 13 that the county experienced an unusually busy 24-hour period with 20 calls for service, surpassing the previous record of 18.
Casey Ebrum, EMS chief, said, "We had 20 calls for service," and noted staff were attending a ventilator lab and other training sessions during the week. The court also acknowledged a $500 donation from Jane Tennant to EMS; Ebrum called the gift the department's second from the donor and expressed appreciation.
Ebrum described planned EMS Week activities at the Kennedy station, including skills challenges and community events, and said the department hopes to hold next year's public ceremony at a new EMS training facility if that site is completed. The court recognized the workload pressure and lauded the EMS team's performance.
