Hedke and other commissioners emphasized the benefit of local banking relationships and the operational simplicity of staying with a known provider, but also discussed past attempts to solicit local bids and the practical difficulties smaller banks face handling large public deposits.
No formal bid was directed while the court pursues negotiations; the alternate agenda item to go out for bids was noted but no action was taken on it at this meeting.
