Bailey, who introduced himself to the court as "Rick Bailey," described buying and growing a league franchise and using the team as a platform for autism awareness. "My son, Bryce, he's nonverbal. He has autism," Bailey said, explaining that jerseys and outreach are used to support awareness and inclusion. A meeting participant who introduced him noted there were "over 400 people at that game," reflecting early crowd support for the season opener.
Bailey outlined the scope of the league's presence in the region, saying the operation includes teams in Galveston, Texas City, Baytown, Pearland and Conroe and four additional teams in the North. He said the Galveston team and other league clubs involve local volunteers and staff — naming several local supporters and coaches — and invited the public to attend an upcoming home game against Conroe at Tor Field.
The recognition was brief and followed by a quick photo; the court then returned to its business agenda.
