The Ellis County Commissioners Court convened an executive session under Gov. Code §551.071 to consult with county attorneys about item A15 and then returned to read and approve a motion to clarify and amend several pages of the adopted fiscal year 2025–26 budget. The updates correct intended salary ranges and specific line‑item figures for precinct road and bridge staff while explicitly not altering total salary appropriations.
Judge Ray read the proposed motion describing specific corrections: for example, the Precinct 1 heavy equipment operator line should read $100,240.63 and road worker hourly caps were set (for several precincts) up to $30; assistant foreman and mechanic figures for Precinct 2 were read. The motion passed unanimously. Staff said the changes were necessary due to a software error in the originally adopted document and directed the county clerk to file the corrected pages.
