Multiple building leaders reported on the start of the school year, safety planning and early student outcomes. A middle‑school presenter said staff used hold and shelter‑in‑place drills this fall and identified minor issues to address: "we've actually had 2 low risk but real world opportunities to use a hold and to use a shelter in place," the presenter said, adding that the exercises uncovered bugs the schools could fix.
Principals also described strong early literacy and intervention work. The Looking Glass representative said several classes already have 50% of students at or above literacy benchmark and praised a visit by a Stanford Children's coach who commended the school's culture and students feeling "seen and heard." Athletic and extracurricular activity updates included undefeated volleyball teams, cross‑country meets where students placed third and fourth, and upcoming homecoming and open house events.
