Task force lays out $900K–$1.5M cost estimates and tax implications for proposed ESD

Mark Rose said vendor bids and averages put a baseline vendor-operated service near $900,000 (he cited an average figure of about $984,000) and that a premium, staffed unit could be closer to $1,500,000 a year. He added that the existing city/county subsidy of about $350,000 is no longer sufficient.
The task force explained that an ESD tax rate is capped by law at 10¢ per $100 of assessed value. Using that cap, presenters estimated gross tax revenue for the district at roughly $1.3–$1.5 million (collection rates vary), and said anticipated ambulance billing might bring about $300,000 a year in additional revenue, reducing net district cost.
