Council awards multiple contracts: RFPs for fire station work, interchange study, waste tire recycling and stone; change order approved

Florence County Council on Nov. 21 approved a series of procurement actions and contract awards. Council awarded RFP #112425 for design-build additions to South Lynch's Fire Station No. 2 to Paris Welding & Construction of Scranton for $39,840 (funded from CPST3). The council also approved awarding RFP #92425, an engineering planning study for the I‑95 and SC‑327 interchange, to Kimley‑Horn; staff said the FLATS program will reimburse 80% of the cost and the county will fund the remaining 20% from planning funds.
The council awarded RFP #132425 for waste tire disposal and recycling services to Liberty Tire Recycling (doing business as US Tire Recycling Partners) at $231 per ton from Public Works budget. It also awarded a bid for MBC stone for Districts 2 and 3 to NW White & Company for $100,837.71 (RSMF funds). Separately, council approved a cumulative change order to Thompson Turner’s Lines Park multi-purpose hall contract, adding $513,516 for the Lake City Senior Center for a new total contract price of $3,994,547, funded from CPST3 and grants.
