Superintendent Meyer emphasizes student safety, previews April Student Safety Summit and CTEC progress

Superintendent Becky Meyer used the district report to walk trustees through the board’s strategic plan buckets and offered updates on the Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) and student-support initiatives.
"The student is at the center of everything we do, every student every day," Meyer told trustees as she described safety and student mental-health priorities. Meyer said the district held a safety-task-force update and is moving the CTEC project forward with architects, and that community partners — including Kiwanis — have contributed to equipment and site preparations.
Meyer announced a Student Safety Summit focused on student mental health and suicide awareness planned for April 15, noting the district will provide a free meal and childcare to encourage family participation. "We really are doing the student Safety Summit this year…" Meyer said, outlining breakouts and panel discussions intended to help parents spot warning signs and find resources.
The superintendent also highlighted district short videos showing classroom innovations, dual-credit registration events and award-winning student work that reflect the district’s priorities to improve student connection and learning outcomes.
