San Patricio County updates public GIS tools and bilingual hurricane viewer

The presentation highlighted a public data viewer containing voting precincts, commissioner precincts, county boundaries, road centerlines and address points and an ADA-compliant suite of tools. Lakhtai described a bilingual hurricane preparedness viewer that pulls live data from NOAA and the National Weather Service and allows the Emergency Operations Center to activate evacuation zones. Commissioner Sikorsky asked whether maps would remain available if the internet went down; presenters confirmed data are stored on the enterprise server with offline backups and some application tuning would be required to make specific views fully visible offline. The court thanked the presenters and requested the county IT team post clear links to the public viewers on the county website.
