Public commenters and a commissioner urge recycling and new water-production options

"Imagine a future where our industrial, agriculture, landscaping, water needs are met without tapping into our dwindling drinking water," Casey said, and he recommended supporting investment in water reclamation infrastructure.
Separately, Commissioner Zikorski reported on a San Patricio Municipal Water District symposium where a Texas company demonstrated small trailers that produce modest daily volumes and outlined a proposed $78 million plant capable of producing about 1,000,000 gallons per day; he suggested the county consider pursuing available water grants and coordinating presentations for local cities and entities that need water.
