County approves dosimetry monitoring contract for medical examiner staff

The court authorized the county judge to sign a master agreement with Landauer Inc. to provide dosimetry monitoring services for the medical examiner's office.
Bambi Trevino of the medical examiner's office explained that the service will monitor radiation exposure from the Lodox machine and autopsy technicians: "this is a radiation monitoring service that we'd like to get started with for our Lodox machine and the autopsy technicians that handle the machine... they put little badges on them... in every 90 days, they'll check it, they'll submit a report, and we can kind of get an idea," Trevino said. The court approved the agreement by voice vote.
