Roads staff presented the Better Safe Roads overlay project for East County Road 7130, citing heavy truck traffic, a nearby original McPherson vineyard and planned visitor-center improvements. County staff said the overlay will improve roadway condition for agricultural and commercial traffic; the court approved a $215,990 transfer to fund the in-house overlay work.
Roads staff described the scope as a short segment (0.5 to 1 mile) near MLK and said crews expect to complete the work before the installation of a historical marker and small visitor facility. Commissioner Corley moved approval and the motion passed without opposition.
