County approves medical examiner agreement to provide services for Randall County

Bambi Trevino of the Medical Examiner's Office presented a memorandum of understanding to provide medical-examination services to Randall County, telling the court Randall sent roughly 50 cases last year to its prior contractor. The MEO will handle examinations, invoice for services and expects to bill contributing counties for cases handled; staff said one case had already been received under the new arrangement.
Commissioners discussed case volumes and billing practices; Trevino said the MEO will invoice 100% for requested services and that the contract outlines how contributing counties will be charged. The court approved the agreement by motion.
