The Wood Village City Council approved a resolution Oct. 8 renewing a franchise agreement with Astound Broadband for a five-year term as allowed under the 2015 agreement.
Greg, a city staff member, summarized the request: "They came to the city originally in 2015... so they're asking for the 2nd of 2, 5 year renewals now in October 2024." Councilors had no additional questions and voted to approve the renewal by voice vote.
The renewal will maintain the existing franchise terms for the portion of Astound's network that requires a city franchise while staff remain available to answer follow-up questions from the public.
