CDBG project: ADA picnic-area enhancement on track; restroom rebid this week

Greg reported ongoing design work for a CDBG-funded enhancement to the picnic grove that will include an ADA ramp and additional picnic tables and benches; he said staff expects final design by Dec. 18 and hopes to put the project out to bid in January for construction before the fiscal year end.
On restrooms, Greg said staff is optimistic about the second bid opening this week because the schedule is less tight than the prior spring bid and the architect has removed a highly prescriptive AIA manual from the bid package. He cited a planning/budget reference around $525,000 (staff noted the base budget is 500 and they had added money for lighting), and said results will appear in the weekly update.
