Councilors reviewed the League of Oregon Cities’ draft priorities and selected five topics to forward as Wood Village’s input for the coming legislative session.
The five priorities the council settled on were: shelter and homeless response; behavioral-health enhancements; building decarbonization and investment in community resiliency; cybersecurity and privacy; and a transportation funding shift from the gas tax to a road-user fee. Councilors discussed alignment with regional needs and noted that the list is broad and intended to guide the League’s agenda-setting rather than endorse specific bills.
Staff will compile the council’s selections and provide them to the League as Wood Village’s input. Councilors said they expect to follow legislative developments and to advocate in Salem for region- and city-specific needs.
