Parks staff opens multi-year plan to replace playground; sinking fund holds $120,000

He said smaller, modern replacement structures can be in the $180,000–$220,000 range once installation and footings are included, while large custom-themed installations at other sites have exceeded $800,000.
Commissioners discussed whether to preserve existing toddler and big-kid zones, combine swing areas to free space, add accessibility features and whether to invest in a engineered rubber surface or retain engineered wood fiber. Greg said staff will conduct targeted outreach to parents and kids next spring and refine a budget and scope to present in future meetings.
