Cameron County Commissioners on June 2 presented a proclamation honoring Renee Capistrano, president and CEO of Noble Texas Builders, for leading fundraising and in-kind donations to rebuild VFW Post 2410.
The proclamation, read by the court, recorded $850,000 in federal community project funding secured with U.S. Congressman Vicente Gonzalez and a $150,000 county grant allocation; it also noted more than $1.5 million in pledged in-kind labor, construction materials and services from more than 30 local contractors and partners. Capistrano accepted the recognition, thanked the county and said he was proud to give back to the community where he was born and raised.
