The Calhoun County Commissioners Court approved Amendment No. 2 to the Department of State Health Services contract HHSREV 0100002459, which allows the county clerk’s office to issue county birth certificates. Staff noted that issuing certified birth records is often necessary for residents applying for driver’s licenses and that the clerk’s office processes about 50–59 such records.
"We have about 50 or 9," a staff member said while describing the volume of records handled, and the court then moved and carried the amendment. The Chair instructed staff to sign the amended contract and noted officials would complete the required paperwork after the meeting.
