The Calhoun County Commissioners Court authorized payment in full to Craftsman LLC for invoice number 20303 in the amount of $201,703.71 for completion of the Sanders Park playground. Officials said the playground work was funded by a mitigation-trust grant and that the upgrade added playground equipment, benches and shade to improve parent supervision areas.
"This is for completion of playground addition...which was a grant, a Mitigation Trust, which was a 100% grant. No cost to taxpayers," a commissioner stated during the discussion. The court moved, seconded and approved the payment by voice vote.
