The Calhoun County Commissioners Court approved amendments to the 2025 and 2026 budgets following a public hearing on June 3, 2026. A county staff presenter detailed line-item changes for 2025, including additional principal on debt service, bridge work and increased shipping and equipment costs; for 2026 the court approved creating capital project accounts for infrastructure, drainage and road improvements as well as adjustments to court-reporter substitutes and tuition assistance.
"In the 2026 budget, create account as needed in capital project infrastructure, drainage and road, increase road and bridge supplies, 38,761," the presenter said when outlining proposed changes. Commissioners also approved a $460,726 mitigation-trust revenue and matching line for 6 Mile Park public-access improvements. Chair moved to amend and adopt the budgets, and the motions were seconded and adopted by voice vote. The court recorded motions to amend both the 2025 and 2026 budgets and carried the measures in sequence.
