Senior-center board presses city licensing terms; commissioners urge direct talks

"There are 3 electric meters and 2 gas meters going into that mill," a senior-center board member (S8) said, arguing the city may not know which meter serves which area and that splitting costs could be a "nightmare." Another representative (S12) said parts of the draft agreement appeared to require the senior organization to pay 50% of repairs and to cede control over kitchen equipment owned by the senior center.
Commissioners (S1 and S3) said the contract was drafted by the city and recommended the senior board meet with the city manager to review usage data and clarify who has legal authority to sign the agreement. County staff emphasized they could not give legal advice and encouraged the seniors group to secure counsel or document financial capacity before signing.
