Representatives from NextEra Energy Resources introduced themselves to the Pratt County Commission and outlined how the company will manage local solar and battery projects going forward.
"We've had some internal company shakeups," a NextEra project director (S10) said, then introduced new local leads Devin Pichalski (S6), Madison Scottis (S11), and Cody Akers (S10). The team told commissioners they have established weekly construction-management check-ins and monthly on-site reviews with county staff to monitor standing issues. They identified vendor noncompliance with the road-use agreement as the primary local concern and said repeat offenders will be banned from the site.
County leaders responded that the new reporting rhythm and escalation procedures were welcome and asked NextEra to continue communicating with county roads and legal staff as projects advance. Company representatives also said they are preparing permit applications for a battery project under the county's updated regulations.
