County Clerk Molly Linehan told the Government Operations Committee that the rollout of the NYS DRIVE software is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2026, and that state and county DMV offices will close to the public at 2:00 p.m. on rollout day. Linehan said phone lines and public services will be suspended and systems may not be available until at least Feb. 17, depending on the statewide transition schedule.
Linehan said the rollout remains coordinated as a statewide press-release effort among NYS DMVs, that county DMV operations are preparing for the change and that staffing and communications will be adjusted to reflect the temporary service disruption. The committee accepted the report as information.
