Office for the Aging reports strong community food support; pop-up pantry increases to 275 per event

Marianne Rosica-Brand, Office for the Aging, told the committee that community support for the Hope Center has been substantial: she reported the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance brought in about six tons of food and Dr. Frank's Winery ran a drive. Rosica-Brand said demand is up and community contributions have helped meet increased need.
She said the department increased the pop-up pantry count to 275 per event and that after the last pop-up pantry staff brought about 2,000 pounds of food back to the Hope Center. The Office for the Aging described multiple access options, including placing items outside for people who prefer not to register inside.
