Commission approves assisted‑living proposal and right‑of‑way vacations in Sunrise Manor

Dave Turner, representing the owner, told the board the site will include detached sidewalks, landscaping and three new buildings intended for senior care: “There’ll be 3 separate new buildings on the site. They reach 6,244 square feet, and they’ll each have 16 beds,” Turner said.
Neighborhood advocate Al Rojas spoke in support, saying the development could help address homelessness and provide local services. Commissioners discussed compatibility with surrounding industrial uses and requested conditions, including required letters from the homeowners association if a non‑decorative screen fence is permitted; the motion to approve items 23 and 24 passed.
