Commission approves Metro Towing permit with gate setback and landscaping conditions

The Clark County Commission on July 8 approved a holdover use permit for a tow yard and outdoor storage on a 1.01‑acre site in Sunrise Manor, with conditions addressing gate setback, ADA access and landscaping.

Ran Tadmore, owner of Metro Towing, told the board his crew will start paving tomorrow and complete the paved driveway by Monday and that he has coordinated landscaping and water connections. “We have chosen to go 25 feet because [we] weren’t sure if the 18 feet starts from the curb or from the gate, so we’re gonna go 25 foot to make sure everything is covered,” Tadmore said.

Commissioners and staff discussed the required minimum 18‑foot gate setback; public‑works staff confirmed the minimum setback and ADA driveway width. Commissioner Sagerblen asked for tree planting along Palm Street and the applicant described a plan to plant trees every 10 feet using species approved by the water authority and to run new water and a time clock to support irrigation.

The motion to approve the item — with a condition that the driveway operate as one‑way where specified and that required signage and striping be provided — passed unanimously. The board recorded the conditions on the record before casting the vote.
