Dr. Antonio Gonzalez, deputy superintendent of operations, presented the survey metrics the district used to guide the meeting. "We had 4,122 individuals who represented 5,565 students take this survey," Gonzalez said, and he provided a respondent breakdown: 70% parents/guardians, 18% APS employees, 2% students and 1% community members.
Gonzalez summarized high-level scores: a 3.3 out of 5 for transportation and a 2.7 out of 5 for food and nutrition, and he said the survey underlined communications and safety as leading concerns for transportation and a desire for voice and culturally relevant options for food. The board and staff said they will compile tonight's table notes and answers into a frequently asked questions document and post it on the APS website and email it to attendees who signed in.
