Commissioners approve venue rental for family mediation training in January 2027

The Court authorized the county judge to sign a venue rental agreement with the Scottish Rite Event Center for family mediation training to be held Jan. 5–7, 2027.
A staff member said the Ashmore facility was unavailable for upcoming training, so the county is testing alternate venues; the Scottish Rite Event Center is the proposed location. "So we're kinda scouting around... We're asking your approval," the presenter said. Commissioners moved and seconded the authorization, which carried by voice vote.
Staff noted the Veterans Commission had refunded a regional veterans mediation activity and that county staff would notify the region (SPAC) of the change; coordination for the new venue and related training activities will continue.
