Roads department reports staffing gaps and dozens of open work orders

A roads department representative said the department has open vacancies for a ground maintenance technician and a fleet maintenance technician. Reported open work orders included 19 for unpaved roads, 29 for paved roads, 12 for signs, 25 for parks and approximately 85 open fleet-related work orders. The representative also said a drainage project wrapped up last week and staff will hold coordination meetings on other projects such as the Walmart-area work.
Commissioners thanked crews for the work and noted improvements in roadway drainage after recent rains. The report was informational; no vote was required.
