Blackford County commissioners approve 2026 appointments, one abstention on development board seat

President John Lancaster and the Blackford County Commissioners approved the county’s 2026 appointments at their Feb. 2, 2026, meeting. Commissioners Laura Coons and Dan Borgenheimer joined Lancaster in voting to confirm multiple positions including Drainage Board Secretary Dori Foster, Highway Supervisor John Pluimer, Health Officer Dr. Lori Skidmore and Planning & Zoning Director Samantha Dick; the motion to approve the full slate passed 3–0.
Commissioner Coons moved to appoint Dan Borgenheimer to the Blackford Development Corp; Commissioner Lancaster seconded. Because Borgenheimer was the nominee, he abstained and the board recorded a 2–0 vote with one abstention on that specific appointment. The minutes for four January meetings were also approved earlier in the session on unanimous 3–0 votes.
