BCEDC reports $7,500 AEP grant for EMA; owner-occupied rehab grant work underway

Warren Brown of the Blackford County Economic Development Corporation told the council the BCEDC applied for an AEP grant for the county's emergency management and received $7,500 from AEP for EMA. "Received grant from AEP for $7,500 for EMA," Brown said during the meeting.
Brown said the BCEDC is meeting with grant writers to pursue an Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Grant (OCRA) for county homeowners. He said the program would target low- to moderate-income households and provide up to $25,000 per qualifying household for repairs such as roof, HVAC, electric, plumbing and ADA compliance work. The council recorded the update; no funding commitment from the county was recorded in the minutes.
