The Blackford County Board of Commissioners elected John Lancaster president and Dan Borgenheimer vice president during their Jan. 5, 2026 meeting in the courthouse's Commissioner/Council room. Commissioner Laura Coons nominated Lancaster for president and Borgenheimer for vice president; Borgenheimer seconded the nomination and the motion carried 3–0.
The election followed approval of minutes from prior meetings and routine roll call. The new leadership will serve through 2026 and presides over routine county business, including economic development and claims approvals scheduled on the board's early January docket.
