Planning commission approves larger entrance signs for Spring Valley apartment project

The Clark County Planning Commission on a routine vote approved a sign design review that increases the area and height of entrance signs for an approved multifamily development near Warm Springs Road and Cimarron Road in Spring Valley.
Liz Lisonbee, speaking for the applicant and property owner Nevada West, described the request and positioned the new signage as modest relative to the scale of the apartment complex: "When you look at the code, black and white, it does look like it's a pretty high increase, but when you do look at it as an overall project and the scale of the apartment complex...the signage is really pretty minimal," she said. Commissioners asked no substantive follow-up questions and moved to approve SDR260312LVWS as presented. The motion passed on the record and was recorded as final action unless appealed.
The commission noted the site is an approved multifamily development under construction and that the proposed signs would be located at driveway entrances and an intersection. Appeals of tonight's final action must follow the county's appeal procedures and deadlines announced by staff.
