Karnes County Commissioners on June 17 approved a $163,467 payment to Frasier LTD to remount Medic 920 and authorized the EMS chief to sign purchasing documents and title paperwork. Presenter (county EMS/operations staff) told the court the payment covers refurbishment — including paint, doors, lights and graphics — and that the remount reuses an existing chassis box; delivery and hand‑over are expected when title is received in June 2025.
"That $153,467 is refurbishment and improvements — paint, door, light, graphics, etcetera," the Presenter said, noting the work reuses an existing box and that Frasier has been a regular vendor. Commissioners asked about trade‑in and surplus procedures; staff confirmed the $10,000 trade‑in for the existing chassis was included in the cost and advised the court to ensure surplus rules are followed before transfer. The court then declared the listed old ambulance (VIN 1FBUF4GT0KBA11854) surplus and allowed the trade to Frasier LTD under the terms discussed.
