Ellis County Adopts Minor Amendments to 2024 Master Thoroughfare Plan

The county's Director of Development, Alberto Morris, presented proposed amendments to the 2024 Ellis County Master Thoroughfare Plan. The three main changes were: (1) remove Indy Ranch Road, which staff said was included in error; (2) shift the Elders Ranch alignment about 0.75 miles west so the thoroughfare lies within the developer’s property rather than splitting lots; and (3) correct conflicting classification widths on several roads (Curtis Ray Road and Armstrong Road to a uniform 100-foot classification; a cleanup in Midlothian and a Sutton Road overlap correction).
Morris said these are largely minor cleanups and do not affect the county’s jurisdiction in most cases; two of the changes are inside Midlothian city limits and were proposed to match the city’s classifications. Staff recommended approval subject to the standard technical conditions; the court approved the amendments unanimously.
