Court OKs two-year lease in Midlothian for Precinct 4 constables and JP office

The Commissioners Court approved a two-year lease with Leasing Impressions Commercial LLC for the property at 301 North 8th Street in Midlothian to house Precinct 4 constables and the Justice of the Peace 4 office. Purchasing Director EJ Harbin said the flat monthly rate will be $13,200 for the two-year term and staff recommended approval to allow time to evaluate future facility options.
Commissioners noted the monthly rent is higher than the prior arrangement ($10,500 or $10,000/first year in the previous contract), but Harbin said the modular building design used in prior JP facility planning should reduce costs if the county relocates later. The motion to approve the lease carried unanimously.
