Ellis County honored for StormReady certification from National Weather Service

The Ellis County Commissioners Court on March 17 recognized the county's Office of Emergency Management for earning StormReady certification through the National Weather Service Fort Worth office. Judge opened the recognition and invited Alex Ming of the Office of Emergency Management to the podium.
"It just it's to prepare the and save lives for, extreme weather events," Alex Ming said, describing the certification's focus on preparedness and warning dissemination. The judge read a resolution noting the county met standards for hazard monitoring, emergency communications, public outreach, and coordinated response.
The resolution singled out collaboration with the Ellis County Sheriff's Office and the Ellis County Fire Marshal's Office for warning dissemination and field response. The court took a ceremonial photo with Ming after the reading.
The recognition highlights county efforts to strengthen severe-weather readiness and public safety; no formal action beyond the resolution was required or taken.
