Yoakam told council that the reallocation follows guidance from the U.S. Treasury and explained that the sheriff's office previously received allocations for a Bearcat but additional funds were necessary to complete the purchase. The council adopted the resolution by voice vote after discussion; no further amendment was recorded.
Councilmembers said the ARPA-funded projects will improve resilience and public-safety infrastructure. The resolution’s recorded title and body in the clerk’s reading included the reassignment language and the $49,000 figure for the sheriff’s office.
